In April 2018, we have seen that many designer brands are proactively exploring self-managed distribution channels. COMME MOI, the brand established by the super model Yan LV opened stores in Hefei, Nanjing and Chongqing. Jewelry designer Baobao Wan opened her first pop-up fine jewelry store. The designer brand ANNAKIKI opened its first concept store featuring a pink theme.

In addition to Chinese market, Chinese designers have continued exploring international market. “Yellow is Forbidden”, the haute couture designer Pei Guo’s first personal documentary,  was showcased at New York Tribeca Film Festival. FFIXED STUDIOS was presented at Kazakhstan Fashion Week. RENLI SU has been distributed at British department store Selfridges.

China Market Development

1. COMME MOI opened new stores

Designer brand COMME MOI (by Yan LV) opened stores in Yintai Center (Hefei), Deji (Nanjing) and Longhubeichengtianjie (Chongqing).

2. ANNAKIKI opened its first PINK themed concept store

Designer brand ANNAKIKI (by Zi Yang) opened its first PINK themed concept store in K11 Shopping Center in Guangzhou.

3. Designer Baobao Wan opened her pop-up fine jewelry store

Jewelry designer Baobao Wan opened her first pop-up fine jewelry store in WF Central in Beijing. From April to September 2018, the store will present her exquisite jewelry works.

4. HEFANG Jewelry launched its youth line

HEFANG Jewelry (by Fang He) launched its youth line featuring fashion jewelry products.

5. Short Sentence opened TMall flagship store

Short Sentence (by Lin Guan) opened its flagship store on TMall.

6. CALVIN LUO opened Weidian

Designer brand CALVIN LUO (by Yucheng Luo) launched its official Weidian.

International Market Development

1. Haute couture designer Pei Guo’s personal documentary was presented at New York Tribeca Film Festival

Chinese haute couture designer Pei Guo’s personal documentary “Yellow is Forbidden” was presented at New York Tribeca Film Festival, directed by New Zealand female director Pietra Brettkelly. With exquisite visual art forms, Ms. Brettkelly captured Pei Guo’s fashion power of mastery, sensibility, arts and details. The director demonstrated the multiple opposing forces of Ms. Guo’s works, tradition and modernity, prejudice and inclusiveness, and commercial success and pursuits for unique techniques.

2. FFIXED STUDIOS presented fashion show at Kazakhstan Fashion Week

Designer brand FFIXED STUDIOS(by Fiona Lau & Kain Picken)was invited to presented at Kazakhstan Fashion Week.

3. RENLI SU has been distributed at British Department Store Selfridges

Designer brand RENLI SU has distributed at British department store Selfridges.

4. Haute couture designer Grace Chen presented fashion show at the 3rd edition of New York China Fashion Gala

Haute couture designer Grace Chen was invited to present fashion show at the 3rd edition of New York China Fashion Gala held at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Cross-Over Collaboration

1. Designer Angel Chen collaborated with Lane Crawford and Biotherm

Designer Angel Chen collaborated with Lane Crawford and launched 2018SS make-up gift collection mini cardholders. She also collaborated with the skincare brand Biotherm and launched joint gift set.

2. Designer brand SANKUANZ collaborated with MYGE

Designer brand SANKUANZ (Zhe Shangguan) collaborated a fun collection with MYGE again, featuring “Chinese lunar new year of the dog" and applying fun elements including music, cartoon, slogan, signs and so on.

3. Designer brand CHI ZHANG collaborated with Toyota for fashion show

Designer brand CHI ZHANG (by Chi Zhang) collaborated with Toyota for a fashion show featuring human and cars on the same stage.

4. Designer Guangyu Su designed costumes for the stage drama “Laoshe Fairs”

Designer Guangyu Su designed costumes for the stage drama “Laoshe Fairs”. The collection was made of paper and paint materials.
