On September 8, Scottish accessible-luxury leather goods brand Strathberry announced that it has secured a growth equity investment from London-based private equity firm Soho Square Capital. The specific investment amount and equity stake were not disclosed.
Strathberry was founded in 2013 by husband and wife Guy and Leeanne Hundleby and is headquartered in Edinburgh. It has now become one of the best-known names in the global accessible-luxury segment.
In the 2025/2026 fiscal year, Strathberry's annual revenue grew 39% to £50.5 million. Its compound annual growth rate over the past three years reached 43%.
When Sky News reported on the brand's fundraising rumors last month, it mentioned that Strathberry was valued at close to £100 million on an overall basis.

Strathberry's bags are characterized by minimalist lines and a signature bar closure. Each piece is made from the finest Spanish leather and finishes and handcrafted in Ubrique, Spain's historic leather-making hub.
Soho Square director David Steel described the brand as "a rare combination of superb craftsmanship, a distinctive design signature and a genuinely global, loyal customer base. The brand's philosophy of 'high-end quality at an accessible-luxury price' resonates with consumers who have grown disillusioned with top luxury labels."
John Devine, an investor at BGF, another backer of Strathberry, said that from 2022 to 2026, "Strathberry has achieved extraordinary growth, with revenue increasing more than fivefold, evolving from a Scottish-rooted business into an internationally recognized brand."
BGF invested £8 million in Strathberry in early 2022 to fund expansion beyond the UK, when the brand was valued at £32 million, roughly three times its revenue in the 2020 fiscal year (the 12 months to April 2020). Strathberry also posted a pre-tax profit of £1.6 million that year.

With this financing, Soho Square Capital succeeds BGF as the brand's institutional investor. Soho Square Capital was founded in 2021 and focuses on providing financing to growing small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK and Europe. Its team members have more than 15 years of co-investment experience, and it manages assets of more than £250 million.
Soho Square Capital's investment approach typically uses senior debt or preferred capital paired with a minority equity stake, minimizing dilution of founders' equity and ensuring founders retain greater operational control. This investment is the first from the Soho Square Partnership Capital Fund II.
Following this financing, Strathberry's founders will continue to control the brand's operations, and Soho Square Capital director David Steel will join the brand's board.
With the capital, expertise and support provided by Soho Square Capital, Strathberry plans to accelerate its next phase of global expansion, focusing on North America, the brand's largest market worldwide, opening new stores and continuing to invest in the brand.
In addition to its two core markets of the UK and North America, the brand continues to see strong demand in Asia-Pacific, the Gulf Arab states and emerging regions such as Australia and Germany.
David Steel said: "Guy, Leeanne and the team have built a one-of-a-kind brand, and there is significant room for further growth, particularly in international markets."
Strathberry is primarily direct-to-consumer through digital channels, while operating four physical stores in the UK, all in prime locations in London and Edinburgh, and also sells wholesale through leading luxury retailers.
In terms of near-term plans, the brand plans to add two stores next year, one in London and the other its first overseas store, in New York. It will open further stores in more prime US retail locations in the future.
